Thank You... and Late Night on the Ave (June 7th)

And now for something completely personal... A message from our founder, Leanne Playter Korsos:

"I would like to send a very BIG thank you to Mista Zaugg and Andreas Korsos for your invaluable assistance during the Highlands Street Festival! You were both a huge part of our little success story.

Special thanks to Gwen and Bud Playter for puppysitting our sweet, loveable shop-dog so the rest of us could spend uninterrupted time preparing.

Thank you also to everyone who came out to the Festival... we had loads of fun and it was great to meet the people behind those tiny pictures in Facebook and Blogland, and to see our lovely customers again! We so value your support and look forward to sharing news, events and more fun with you this summer!

With great appreciation,

This Sunday: Eco-Friendly Must-Haves at the Festival!

We have so many great new things being featured this Sunday at the Highlands Street Festival!  We`ve been sharing our absolute favourites on our blog this week, and today`s pick is no exception...

We are loving Whitewater Candles.  They are renowned for their eco-friendly product and practices but more than that, they smell so good that they are a must-have in every home.

Plus they are 100% Canadian made!

Stop in at Apple Box Boutique this Sunday, June 3rd and check them out in their casually chic enamelware containers -- they are reusable so when you purchase a Whitewater candle, you get a little something extra!

Here`s a little more about them:

The Whitewater Canadian Soy Candles are the cleanest and purest Canadian Soy Candle on the market. The Large Whitewater Canadian Soy Candles will burn for approximately 125 hours a pure and clean fragrant aromatic scent.

Whitewater Soy Candles believe strongly in the use of renewable, biodegradable resources like soybean wax and oil, and create environmentally friendly candles which produce minimal waste. They are also an eco alternative to petroleum based products. Our reproduction antique enamel containers are stylish, re-useable and clean easily with soap and water.

Feature: Environmentally Friendly
Feature: 100% Made in Canada

Don`t miss them at the Highlands Street Festival this Sunday!

This Sunday: Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Demonstration

Come down this Sunday, June 3rd to the annual 1-day only Highlands Street Festival and stop by for our Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Demonstration.  Throughout the day Leanne, our founder and “Chief Reimaginer” will be painting furniture with the chalk paint that is causing a stir all over Europe and North America.

Times will be posted in the window at Apple Box Boutique during the Festival.

Leanne will explain the benefits of using ASCP, the tools that will make your painting a breeze, demonstrate how to work with the paint and waxes and will answer any questions you have about this DIYers dream product.

A sample board will be available so you can see all 29 colours with clear wax and dark wax applied. We will have all the paint and supplies available for purchase, and we`d be happy to hold onto it at the boutique so you don`t have to lug it around the Festival grounds!

The deal? Get the paint at $50, but only during the Festival!

The extras? Tell us you read this blog and we`ll give you 10% off your paint supplies and books!

The bonus? It is taking place in the hub of  the Festival, and there will be dozens of vendors, musicians, children`s activities and events taking place so lots to see, eat and do PLUS lots of great specials and new products available at the local businesses.

The Event? The Festival runs from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM... why not make a day of it and stop in at Apple Box Boutique for our Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Demonstration and all our great offers!
