Hello, and welcome to Project Personality -- I'm writing today because it is time to
Share The Love!
Having jumped the broom with 'The Spartan' a while back, here's bettin' you're wondering why my blog title is "Something Old, Something New". Well, it's simple really -- that phrase describes a lot about what has happened in my world over the last few years. I left my old career in corporate environs to take on a new venture doing something I used to love in a new business involving new and old techniques and products to update old, and sometimes new, furniture. Yup... like I said, it's simple.
What also happened is an accumulation of a large number of things I thought may be needed along my new path; all with good intentions but the truth is I may soon qualify for the TV program Hoarders unless I weed through my catalog of furniture pieces and let go of things I likely will not get around to painting, reupholstering or otherwise finishing. And that means...
SALE TIME!
Now and then we will be posting items that I adore but that need a new home and a little more attention. The idea is to make space for the things I intend to work on now that we truly know what our beloved
Apple Box Boutique is aspiring to become.
Along with building up our repertoire of
DIY and paint-related items (knobs and stencils on the horizon!), we'll be holding more
workshops, taking on more
custom projects and doing our best to keep what we reimagine for the Boutique as unique as possible. We also have a few other surprises up our paint-shirt sleeves, but those are under wraps until the time is right.
In the meantime, watch for our offerings here on the
blog and on our
Facebook page. These items will be sold on a first come first served basis, be that via the
Apple Cart (our online shopping site) or
in-store. And if buying turns to painting, we'll be here to help you with that, too!

custom paint your purchase, sell it to you as is, provide
all the supplies to get you on the road to a successful DIY project or help you make the most of it through one of our
paint workshops.

This is a lovely French-style piece that has been painted in Louis Blue Chalk Paint® (Annie Sloan) with gilded accents and handles, but it requires a new bottom in it's lower drawer. It's not a difficult thing to repair, but with all the changes happening at the Boutique, there has been little time to get it done.
Repaired, this piece would sell for $575.
