Reimagined Monday: It's A Sign of True Love!

(ON TUESDAY!)

Yesterday was such a busy day that we didn't get a chance to publish our Reimagined Monday post --  BUT this one is so darned fabulous that we just can't wait another week to share it!

Wedding season is always so much fun for us in our events division, but it can be hectic as well with not a lot of time to take pictures. That's why our lovely customer Melanie gets a big high five for managing to squeeze a few in as she worked through her wedding decor project.

After seeing a similar sign on Pinterest, Melanie designed her own take on it for her daughter's wedding last weekend.  Our bet is that everyone was wowed by it!

Melanie wrote, "I used the milk paint in typewriter on the plywood then mixed a wash with the milk paint and the chalk paint in old white to get the grey effect. Letters done in old white chalk paint and finished off with clear wax."

Here's the photo play-by-play!

Melanie used her Cricut to cut each letter out of card stock.

Melanie said her daughter loved it.  So do we!

Thank you for sharing this with us, Melanie -- and CONGRATULATIONS to the happy couple!

Don't forget to enter our monthly contest for your chance to win!

Pinterest at On the Apple Box

Pinterest is hot and haute, and it has arrived at On the Apple Box.

We have a new button over there

If you are new to Pinterest like I am, terms like pinning, pin it or pintastic (ok, I made that last one up) sound more like something that happens in a tailor's shop than online.  Because I thought there may be other interested newbies out there, I wanted to post the information that Pinterest provides to help us understand and use this very cool photo-sharing social media tool.

Wikipedia describes Pinterest as a service that "allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections. The site's mission statement is to "connect everyone in the world through the 'things' they find interesting." and states that "The website has proven especially popular among women."

Considering how visual we are as woman, that makes perfect sense.  It doesn't hurt that most of us love pretty things and want to share them with our friends.  Hmmm... no wonder Pinterest has become such a big deal in a short period of time!

Here is what Pinterest has to say:

What is Pinterest?

Pinterest is a Virtual Pinboard.
Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes.

Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests. To get started, request an invite.

What Can You Do with Pinterest?

Redecorate your Home!
Joy uses Pinterest to save decorating ideas for her new home in LA. She saves patterns, furniture, and accessories that catch her eye.

Plan a Wedding!
Divya and Ben use Pinterest to plan their wedding. Their Moms can leave comments about the dresses, flowers, and ties they pin up.

Find your Style!
Tim uses Pinterest to share his personal style. He pins clothing, shoes and accessories he finds while browsing stores and fashion blogs.

Save your Inspirations!
Sha uses Pinterest to save design inspirations for his job. He can reference inspiring design work to share with his team.

Save your Recipes!
Jessica uses Pinterest to save to discover new gluten free recipes. She always has a collection of tasty appetizers and desserts she can cook when she’s hungry and looking for ideas.

Our Mission
Our goal is to connect everyone in the world through the 'things' they find interesting. We think that a favorite book, toy, or recipe can reveal a common link between two people. With millions of new pins added every week, Pinterest is connecting people all over the world based on shared tastes and interests.

To see what Apple Box Boutique has pinned click the "Follow Me on Pinterest" button that big red arrow is pointing to above.

To get a Pin It button that allows you to share images you love with the universe of others that have the same adorations, go to the Pinterest Goodies page.

I am LOVING Pinterest, but be forewarned... you can become addicted.  I know I am!
